With the NBA season just underway, the NFL season in full swing, college football back and now the NHL in season new bettors have a wide variety of action to choose from for any weekend wager. We’ll highlight two here: bet365, the international betting giant that recently expanded to the states, and FanDuel, one of the existing American sports betting leaders. FanDuel has one $150 bet and get available for new users while bet365 has two different promotions for bettors across the country, as well as a Kentucky exclusive bet and get.

In total, bet365 has three offers available for new users. All of these promotions are accessible with the CTNEWS bonus code but are restricted based on where users are located.

  • $1,000 bet insurance: New users will get their first stake back in bonus bets if their initial wager doesn’t win, available for players in CO, IA, NJ, OH and VA

The promotional situation with FanDuel is a bit more straightforward.

For starters, there is no promo code so new users will simply use the relevant module below to sign up for an account. From there, they’ll need to place a cash wager of at least $5 to trigger this promotion. Win or lose, new users will get $150 in bonus bets as well as three months of NBA League Pass.

Weekend Wagers

Oregon Ducks (-245) vs. Utah Utes (+200)

The Ducks head to Salt Lake for a massive matchup with potential playoff implications. Both teams are 6-1 and have a shot at the Pac-12 title if they keep up the wins.

Utah has been good, scratch that great, at home over the past couple seasons. They’re undefeated at the Rice-Eccles Stadium dating back to the 2020-2021 season.

Utah’s offense has come alive in the past few weeks, thanks in part to former safety, now running back Sione Vaki. He has an insane 9.3 yard average and two rushing TDs so far this year. He’ll be critical to a potential Utah win.

Junior Bryson Barnes, the backup to Heisman winner Cameron Rising, put up impressive numbers in the Utes’ win over USC, with four total touchdowns. He’s been delivering the ball accurately and making good decisions even under pressure. Utah will need him to keep that up against the Ducks.

The offense aside, Utah’s defense has been the shining star this season. They’ve been smothering runners in the backfield and forcing QBs into bad decisions all season.

Enter Bo Nix. He’s accurate and electric with the ability to extend plays and find receivers down field. He’ll be another huge test for the Utah defense. While the Utes were able to contain Caleb Williams fairly well, Nix has some more weapons on the edge and has been more accurate than Williams has over his career.

All that said, Nix hasn’t had to push his limits too much so far with two dynamic rushers like Bucky Irving and Jordan James. The foundation of Oregon’s offensive attack is on the ground and they’ll be going up against one of the nation’s best run defenses.

Despite the power of Oregon’s rushing attack, the ground game will be a big factor for the Utes. Oregon hasn’t been great at tackling runners in the open field, ranking 110th in broken tackles allowed. That leaves some room for the Utah rushers to take advantage between the hash marks.

Overall, the Ducks are a touchdown favorite with the O/U at 47.5. That’s a wide spread for a Utah team that held the Trojans offense in check, look for them to beat the spread here. Additionally, both teams have a potent offense, bet the over if you’re inclined to total wagers.

Both the bet365 First Bet Safety Net promotion and the $150 bet and get are limited to new customers in one of the five legal bet365 states — Colorado, Iowa, New Jersey, Ohio and Virginia — who are 21 or older.

The Kentucky bet and get is limited to new users in the Bluegrass State who are at least 18 or older.

The First Bet Safety Net promo does not have a wager requirement so new users can wager any amount they choose, but will only get bonus bets back if their wager is made in cash and is under $1,000.

Any bonus bets earned from any of these promotions will be valid for one wager a piece and thus cannot be withdrawn or cashed out without being wagered first. Similarly, bonus bets earned will not be returned in the event of successful wager.

FanDuel T&Cs

Since FanDuel only has one available offer, and said offer does not require a promo code, the terms and conditions for sign up are relatively straight forward.

The FD bet and get is limited to new customers who are at least 21 years old and present in a legal FanDuel state.

Once new bettors have signed up for an account with FanDuel, they’ll need to place a cash deposit to register their account and a cash wager of at least $5 to trigger this promotion.

Win or lose, they’ll get $150 in bonus bets and three months of NBA League Pass.

How to sign up with either book

We’ve detailed the sign up process with each book in the subsections above, but we’ll provide a brief overview in the paragraphs below for clarity.
