Oregon Ducks (-345) vs. Washington Huskies (+275)

The Ducks and the Huskies square off at Allegiant Stadium in Vegas on Friday night for the last Pac-12 Championship Game ever.

To add to the intensity, Oregon’s only loss this year was at the hands of Washington so they’ll definitely be looking for redemption and maybe some revenge. If that weren’t enough, the winner of this game will be in a solid position for the College Football Playoff.

Friday night lights stakes don’t get much bigger than this.

Oregon’s Bo Nix appears to be a Heisman frontrunner and, looking at his numbers, it’s easy to see why. Nix has put up just under 4,000 yards and 37 touchdowns this season with an insane 78.6 completion percentage, oh and he’s thrown just two picks all year.

The Ducks’ offense, in lock step with Nix, have been cooking with gas this year. They’ve led the country in passing yards and rank second in points per game and total yards per game. No team has been able to stop them this year, though Washington was able to briefly slow them down for the only Oregon loss this year.

That game was especially intriguing because the Ducks put up impressive numbers on the ground, as well as through the air, but failed to secure a victory despite controlling time of possession.

Michael Penix Jr. was able to drive the Huskies downfield and throw the go ahead touchdown to Rome Odunze in the waning minutes of the game.

The Oregon defense has played well but this will again be a tough test for them as Penix Jr. has put himself into Heisman contention as well.

Despite both quarterbacks incredible success this year, the key to victory here will be with the ground game. The only way teams have slowed down the Ducks has been by eating up the clock with the running game and that still is no guarantee of victory.

The Huskies will be looking to get Dillon Johnson and Will Nixon involved early and often to keep Nix and company off the field.

Overall, the Ducks are a wide nine and a half point favorite with a 66 point total. Despite how good Oregon has been this year, bet on the Huskies to cover the spread here. It will be contentious and close but Oregon will eventually secure a victory.
